SHOPPING CONDITIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Prices The prices throughout the shopping catalogue are in USD. The price does not include phytosanitary certificates and shipping. The on-line shopping catalogue will give you an exact quote for shipping, but just to give you a rough estimate of the costs, see below:
Shipping and Handling
Regular Registered Mail to Europe and USA
(takes at least two week,
not longer than 1 month)
Courier & Phytosanitary
certificate (takes between 10 and 14 days):
Due to the fact that Couriers must obtain the
phytosanitary certificate at the Chilean airport, they are not much faster than
the regular registered mail. We suggest that you use the courier only when you
do require a phytosanitary certificate.
If you need a phytosanitary certificate, the shipping must be
by courier.
If you want the seeds to be shipped by courier,
the phytosanitary certificate is required and its cost is included in shipping
and handling.
We can not ship seeds by regular mail WITH phytosanitary
certificate since it is obtained by the courier at the airport.
Lost Shipments
Regular Mail: We do not offer a shipping
insurance. However, should your parcel be lost for any reason (including
retention at the destination county customs), we will reship the same items once
more. This guarantee does not apply to bulky seeds and for parcels heavier than
500 grams. For the bulky seeds/large parcels we can only offer replacement seeds
free of charge, but we will not cover the shipping costs in case of a loss.
Courier: standard Courier policies apply which do
cover lost items. Please note that it is virtually impossible to obtain
compensations for delayed items.
Returns & Refunds
We do not accept returns, and any parcel returned
to Chile will probably be retained by the Chilean customs and destroyed. That is
also the reason that we do not refund money.
Should you be dissatisfied with any seeds, please
write us and explain the reasons, and we will send replacement seeds or seeds of
a different species.
Replacements
All the items you will see in the catalogue for
which the availability status is "OK" should be effectively available. We do not
work with empty lists which we will try fulfilling after receiving your order.
All the seeds are in stock. Should the impossible happen and some item is not
available, we offer a "2 for 1" replacement policy, that is, for any item which
is not available we will put two items of same or grater value.
Payment Options:
The online catalogue offers you the
possibility to pay for the items you purchased through Paypal, either from your
Paypal account or with Credit Cards. We do not directly accept Credit Cards, and
Credit Card transactions go through Paypal.

Explanations about Our On-line Shopping
Catalogue:
For all items which you will try to put into the
shopping cart, their availability status will be displayed. Following status are
possible:
"OK" - The requested weight is available.
"CHECK" - Means that we are almost out of the
item and we will have to manually check if we have enough to fulfill your order.
"EXCEEDED" - The requested weight is not
available. We may have smaller quantity.
"OUT" - This item is completely out of stock.
When you purchase the items, you have the option
to buy either:
- Only the Available Items ("OK") or
- Both the Available Items ("OK") and Unavailable
Items ("CHECK","EXCEEDED","OUT").
If you pay for these unavailable items, you will
make a reservation, and the unavailable seeds will be shipped once they become
available (the system will indicate the month when they are going to be
harvested and shipped). The items which are "OK" will be shipped immediately.
Please note that many recalcitrant seeds (Myrtles
or Drimys, for instance), can be purchased ONLY on order, i.e. you will have to
pay for them when they are out of stock, because they are viable during a very
short period and generally must be kept wet at all times, so that they are
shipped semi-humid. The system will indicate you the month when these seeds will
be ready for harvesting and shipping.
For larger orders, especially where you need a
large quantity of a given item and it appears as "CHECK" or "EXCEEDED", we
suggest that you send us a Request Order without paying. (You aasembly your
order as usual through the shopping catalogue, and at the end you just send us a
request without paying for it. Once we confirm that we have or can obtain the seeds you need,
we will send you a confirmation email, and you can pay for the order and we will proceed
with the shipping).

If you are interested in any seeds which are not
in our price list, but the
plant appears in the Plant Data Base section, we
can collect these on order (generally from January through April). We can also
collect most of the other Chilean species (not in our database) on order.
